Poet and novelist Suzanne Matson, a 2012 National Endowment for the Arts Fiction Writing Fellow and chair of English at Boston College, will read from her fiction at 7 p.m. on Oct. 11 at Ciné, 234 W. Hancock Ave.
Free and open to the public, the reading will take place in the CinéLab event space of the nonprofit art cinema and cultural venue.
Matson’s novels include The Hunger Moon, which won a starred review in Publishers Weekly and A Trick of Nature. Her most recent book, The Tree-Sitter, was shortlisted for the L.L. Winship/ PEN New England Award. She has published two books of poetry, Durable Goods and Sea Level, and her poems have been published in journals including Poetry , The American Poetry Review and The Harvard Review.
Matson’s autobiographical, literary, and op-ed essays have been published in The New York Times Magazine, The Boston Globe and The Seattle Times.
The reading by Matson is part of the Willson Center’s 2012–2013 Distinguished Artists and Lecturers series.
