Barbara A. White, chief information officer and associate provost, is serving as chair-elect of the University System of Georgia Administrative Committee on Information Technology. She will become chair in April 2009.
In her role as chair-elect, White will provide leadership for information technology in higher education in concert with the CIO’s and other executive IT leadership at the 35 University System of Georgia institutions. The chair-elect is responsible for coordination and oversight of all ACIT standing committees. The chair-elect also assists the chair in briefings to the board of regents and assumes the chair’s responsibilities in the event that the chair is unable to attend meetings or fulfill responsibilities.
The ACIT focuses on policies and procedures affecting information technology within the University System. These include, but are not limited to, the areas of electronic communication networks, computing hardware, administrative information systems, academic information systems, and other computing activities.
