One of Sarah Lawrence College’s most prominent alumnae, TV journalist Barbara Walters made a gift of $15 million to the college in Yonkers, New York. The gift will be used to establish the Barbara Walters Campus Center.
This gift represents the largest single donation that the 89-year-old private liberal arts college has received. The Walters Center will serve as a multi-use building that will be a venue for student life and campus community, with social and academic spaces as well as dining facilities. The building also will house the papers and video archives of the iconic journalist.
