Han S. Park, international affairs professor and director of UGA’s Center for the Study of Global Issues, appeared on ESPN’s “Outside the Lines” to discuss former NBA star Dennis Rodman’s recent visit to North Korea.
Park, who has served as an intermediary between the U.S. and North Korea, said the trip may benefit U.S.-North Korean relations.
Noting that North Koreans are unfamiliar with Americans, he said, “They may get a sense from Dennis Rodman’s trip of what America is like-that it is quite liberal, that it has diversity, it accommodates all kinds of attires. Somehow I think it will help them understand the United States the way that it is.”
