BC settles newspaper dispute

After three months of negotiations, The Heights, Boston College’s independent student newspaper, and the college have decided that the college will no longer subsidize the newspaper’s rent for office space and that the newspaper will retain control over editorial and advertising content. The conflict began when a sexually explicit ad for a Boston nightclub appeared in the newspaper, prompting complaints from students and alumni of the Jesuit-run college.
