A book written by Cal M. Logue, Meigs Professor Emeritus of Communication Studies, was honored in 2014 by two independent book publishers.
January in Slavery: An Oral Narrative of the South, published in 2013 by CreateSpace, received bronze recognition for creative nonfiction in the eLit Book Awards contest presented by Jenkins Group Inc., a Michigan-based book publishing and marketing services company. The book also tied for bronze in the best Southeast nonfiction category in the Independent Publisher Book Awards.
