Brian VanGorder, defensive coordinator for the football team, received the Broyles Award as the nation’s top assistant football coach from the Downtown Rotary Club of Little Rock.
The Broyles Award is named after longtime Arkansas athletic director Frank Broyles, who became known for producing top assistant coaches during his coaching career with the Razorbacks.
VanGorder received a 100-pound cast bronze statue worth $5,000 and an additional $2,500.
