The Fanning Institute, 1240 S. Lumpkin St., will host a brown bag lunch with M. von Nkosi on Sept. 19 from noon to 2 p.m.
Nkosi is an architect and urban designer who currently works for New Orleans’ Office of Recovery and Development Administration as an executive on loan from the Louisiana Disaster Recovery Foundation-PolicyLink. He is helping the city develop policies and practices that create vibrant mixed-use and mixed-income neighborhoods as part of the pos-Hurricane Katrina redevelopment efforts. Previously, he directed the Mixed Income Communities Initiative for the Atlanta Neighborhood Development Partnership Inc.
