Nominations have opened for the 2024 President’s Fulfilling the Dream Award. The award celebrates individuals in the University of Georgia and Athens-Clarke County communities who are working to make Martin Luther King Jr.’s dream of equality and justice a reality.
Recipients of the President’s Fulfilling the Dream Award will be recognized at the 20th anniversary of the Martin Luther King Jr. Freedom Breakfast, which will be held on UGA’s campus on Jan. 19, 2024.
Award winners demonstrate commitment to volunteerism and civic engagement in addressing critical community issues; utilize King’s philosophy to reduce tensions, resolve conflict and foster goodwill; and apply King’s teachings to build bridges of understanding and unity.

The MLK Freedom Breakfast, which is sponsored by UGA, the Athens-Clarke County Unified Government and the Clarke County School District, commemorates King’s life and legacy.
