With the arrival of two packets of contribution forms in the budget office Feb. 3-4, UGA’s Campaign for Charities surged past its goal of $425,000, finishing with a total of $434,591.09.
“I am absolutely ecstatic,” said campaign chair Laura Jolly, interim vice president for instruction and dean of the College of Family and Consumer Sciences. “I thought we had done exceptionally well to have come within 99 percent of our goal in these tough times, but I am thrilled to learn that we have actually exceeded it.
“Our faculty and staff have once again demonstrated their compassion for others by giving generously to this annual effort to help those in need,” she added.
