Louis A. Castenell Jr., dean of the College of Education, served on the jury that selected Robert J. Marzano as the recipient of the 2008 Brock Prize in Education. The $40,000 award is given annually to recognize an individual for innovative and effective ideas in education resulting in a significant impact on the practice or understanding of the field of education. The eight-member jury for this year’s laureate selection was comprised of public school officials, university officers, meritorious professors and education program administrators, all of whom are committed to excellence in education.
