Clinton T. Moore, an adjunct assistant professor of wildlife ecology and management in the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources, received three grants totaling $100,861 from the U.S. Department of the Interior for herpetological research to be conducted in the Southeast over the next four years. Moore will study herpetological responses to fire management practices in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, develop a population modeling framework to support conservation efforts for gopher tortoises in Georgia and conduct analytical work regarding alligator harvesting in Georgia, Florida and South Carolina.
