Clyde Jewell Anglin, 66, a former president of the university’s Staff Council, died Feb. 17 after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.
Anglin was a work management supervisor in the Physical Plant, where he worked from 1984 until shortly before his death. Anglin earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and religion from UGA in 1962. He spent three years in the master’s program here and later was a doctoral candidate and teaching assistant in the philosophy department. He also earned a bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University in 1968.
Anglin had been involved in governance at UGA since 1995 when he was secretary to the business and finance division’s staff representative group and later was one of their representatives to Staff Council. He served as president of Staff Council in 1997–1998.
