Athens, Ga. – Faculty and graduate students from the University of Georgia College of Education will show the public their latest research at the 2015 Faculty and Graduate Student Research Conference, which will be held Feb. 13 from 9 a.m.-4:15 p.m. at the Georgia Center for Continuing Education.
The annual conference features faculty and student projects in two separate poster presentation sessions, covering a range of education and human development topics such as learning in and outside of traditional classrooms, instructional initiatives and health and education. Members of the public are invited to the free event.
The 9:15 a.m. keynote address will be presented by Patrick Tolan of the University of Virginia Center to Promote Effective Youth Development. His speech, “Research and Practice in Promoting Youth Development: How Can We Get Along?,” pulls from his work studying the development of inner-city children and families, classroom management training for new teachers and how community collaborations affect middle-school children.
College of Education faculty will present research posters from 10:15-11:45 a.m., allowing colleagues, students and the public a chance to talk about their work and make connections within and outside the UGA community. Graduate students will present their own research posters during a separate afternoon session from 12:45-2:30.
Faculty- and student-focused roundtable discussions centered on research-based themes follow the afternoon poster session.
