Crop and soil sciences professor explains UGA research to remove PFAS

Qingguo “Jack” Huang, professor in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences’ crop and soil sciences department, spoke with Morning AgClips about grant-supported research on PFAS removal.

The College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences and the College of Engineering are working to developed better, cost-effective treatments for removing PFAS, also known as forever chemicals, from water, wastewater and biosolids.

“We are especially proud that CAES research will provide some cost-effective solutions to combat PFAS water contamination, particularly for rural areas,” Huang said. “As researchers, it’s important to keep pushing the boundary. To drive forward, you have to have the vision of what is needed.”
