Georgia’s array of natural wonders illustrated in new book

Natural wonders aren’t limited to far away destinations like the Rockies, Niagara Falls or the Grand Canyon — they can be found aplenty right here in Georgia. Take a look at local places to explore in “35 Natural Wonders of Georgia to See Before You Die.”

Based on the bucket list of a science journalist, this new book highlights instate destinations like the Altamaha River, Providence Canyon, Brasstown Bald and — of course — the Okefenokee Swamp.

Each of the 35 sites is introduced with paintings, field sketches, artist notes and science writing that combine to highlight its unique attributes. The book captures the beauty and rich natural history of Georgia’s biological and geological treasures — inspiring leisure travelers, nature enthusiasts and art lovers to explore these places on their own.
