UGA’s Student Technology Support Web site offers sage, easy-to-understand advice for computer set-up and trouble shooting on campus. Funded by the student technology fee, part-time student workers built and maintain the site under EITS staff guidance.The page provides a guide for new students, easy ways to secure their computers against viruses and spyware and information about the school’s wireless zones. Recently, the Association for Communications Technology Professionals in Higher Education named the STS page a “Member Site to See” and will recognize UGA this July at its annual conference in San Francisco.
