Conflict mediation conflict

The Fanning Institute invites those interested in learning how to mediate conflicts to register for “General/Civil Mediation” (28-hour course) and “General/Civil Mediation Observation” (a 12-hour practicum).

Mediation is a dispute resolution process in which an impartial person helps disputants discuss and resolve their differences. Skills learned in the course are most often used to mediate employment and contract disputes.

Both courses will be offered on campus in spring and fall 2009. Continuing legal education credits also are available.

The dates for “General/Civil Mediation” are May 12-15 and Oct. 9-10, 17-18. The dates for “General/Civil Mediation Observation” are May 29-30 and Oct. 23-24.
