In what could be a major milestone for the increasingly popular Massive Open Online Courses, the American Council on Education endorsed five MOOCs to receive college credit.
The council, which advises college presidents and offers a credit recommendation service, picked two science courses from Duke University and three math courses, one from the University of Pennsylvania and two from the University of California, Irvine. All courses are offered through the company Coursera.
