James Madison University has agreed to offer course credit to online-only students who complete a 16-week introductory Spanish course managed by the language-learning company Rosetta Stone, The Chronicle of Higher Education reported.
The course follows a syllabus approved by both the company and the university and will ask online students to match the learning outcomes of their campus-based peers. This partnership marks the first time an American university has offered credit for completing the course, the Chronicle reported.
