Media Alert: Update for Cultures & Cuisines fundraiser at State Botanical Garden Aug. 23

Athens, Ga. – Cultures & Cuisines, a fundraiser on Aug. 23 supporting the plant collections at the State Botanical Garden of Georgia, has a revised list of restaurants participating in the event.

To be held from 7-9 p.m. in the International Garden of the State Botanical Garden, the fundraiser will feature tastings of chef-created specialties from Square One Fish Company, Last Resort Grill, The Grit, The National, Speakeasy, Heirloom Café and Fresh Market, and Ted’s Most Best. Other event sponsors include Northeast Sales and Distributing and Terrapin Brewing. Live music will be performed by BotJam, a Crowd Favorite Award Winner at the 2011 AthensBusinessRocks contest. BotJam is comprised of musicians who are present and past members of the botanical garden staff.

Tickets are $30 and can be purchased at the event or in advance; however, reservations are required and can be made by calling 706/542-1244. The State Botanical Garden of Georgia is located at 2450 South Milledge Avenue in Athens. For more information, see www.botgarden.uga.edu.
