Dawg Day of Service gives students an opportunity for volunteerism

Athens, Ga. – Volunteer UGA will sponsor “Dawg Day of Service” on Saturday, Aug. 27 from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Student volunteers will participate in 10 community service opportunities around the Athens area.

Students may choose to volunteer at the Athens-Area Humane Society, Atlanta Union Mission, Boys and Girls Club, Brooklyn Cemetery, Food Bank of Northeast Georgia, Learning Ally, Oasis Catolica, Project Safe, United Hospice or W.R. Coile Middle School.

Transportation, lunch and T-shirts will be provided. Preregistration is required, and participation is limited to 400 students.

Check-in will begin at 11 a.m. at the Tate Student Center.
