The nominations deadline for the Fulfilling the Dream Award has been extended to Oct. 28.
Every year, this award is given to individuals in the University of Georgia and Athens-Clarke County communities who are working to make Martin Luther King Jr.’s dream of equality and justice a reality.
Community members are encouraged to submit nominations for local civic leaders and changemakers who are making significant contributions to social justice, race relations, justice or human rights.

Recipients of the President’s Fulfilling the Dream Award will be recognized at the 20th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Freedom Breakfast on Jan. 13, 2023.
Award winners demonstrate commitment to volunteerism and civic engagement in addressing critical community issues; utilize King’s philosophy to reduce tensions, resolve conflict and foster goodwill; and apply King’s teachings to build bridges of understanding and unity.
