Don Rubin, professor emeritus of communication studies and language and literacy education, was elected inaugural chair of the Georgia Alliance for Health Literacy. The group’s mission is to promote health literacy and health equity in the state of Georgia. It enhances health literacy among individual consumers, patients, learners and workers; among professionals who provide health care services; among health care organizations and systems; and among health care payers in private and public sectors of this state.
