A book co-authored by Thomas C. Reeves, a professor emeritus in UGA’s College of Education, has won the 2010 Outstanding Book Award from the Association for Educational Communications and Technology Design and Development.
A Guide to Authentic E-Learning, was co-written with two Australian colleagues, Jan Herrington from Murdoch University and Ron Oliver from Edith Cowan University.
Part of the Connecting with e-Learning series, the guide develops the conceptual framework for authentic learning tasks in online environments, provides practical guidance on design, implementation and evaluation of authentic e-learning tasks and includes case studies and examples of outcomes of using authentic e-learning tasks
It was written for higher education professionals who teach online. It offers concrete guidelines and examples for developing and implementing authentic e-learning tasks in ways that challenge students to maximize learning.
This book provides effective, working examples to engages learners with authentic tasks in online learning settings.
The book award was presented at the annual AECT conference in Anaheim, Calif., in October.
