The Task Force for General Education and Student Learning has scheduled two forums to allow faculty and students to provide ideas and suggestions for the group’s work.
The forum for faculty will be Jan. 25 and the forum for students will be Feb. 2. Both sessions will be from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in room 213 of the Student Learning Center.
Arnett C. Mace Jr., senior vice president for academic affairs and provost, appointed the 24-member task force last fall to recommend ways to improve the quality of undergraduate education at UGA.
Del Dunn, vice president for instruction, and Jere Morehead, vice provost for academic affairs, are co-chairs of the task force, which includes faculty members from schools and colleges; administrators from the Honors Program, the student affairs division and the libraries; and two student representatives.
Dunn and Morehead say the forums will be used to explore several questions that need to be addressed more effectively, including how the intellectual climate on campus can be improved, what students should learn and ways student learning has changed.
More information about the forums and the task force is available by contacting Dunn (ddunn@uga.edu) or Morehead (morehead@uga.edu).
