In its inaugural year, the Engage & Learn Grant Program awarded $20,000 in support of staff professional development opportunities.
Funded by the Office of the President, these awards provide financial assistance to cover full or partial costs for activities that improve staff knowledge and skills either in their current roles or in pursuit of career opportunities at UGA. The specific activities range from specialized job training to team knowledge building to enhancing unit-wide diversity and inclusion programs.
Spring 2022 grants were awarded to recipients from units across the institution, including:
- Auxiliary Services
- Carl Vinson Institute of Government
- College of Pharmacy
- Finance Division
- Franklin College of Arts and Sciences
- Division of Student Affairs
- Office of Institutional Research
- Office of Student Financial Aid
- Terry College of Business
- University Health Center
- University Human Resources
This program is part of the overall Engage and Learn initiative, which includes onboarding, mentoring, online courses through the Professional Education Portal and integration with the UGA Staff Competency Model.
