Faculty at Evergreen State University, a four-year public university in Washington, voted recently to form a union according to The Olympian, a Washington paper.
Fifty-five percent of the faculty voted in favor of forming the union, which will represent full-time professors at the university.
Professors who voted in favor of the union cited more control over benefits and salary as reasons for voting yes. Evergreen State University is one of six four-year public institutions in Washington where faculty have unionized.
