A $40 million expansion of Butts-Mehre Heritage Hall has been approved by the UGA Athletic Association Board of Directors. Also approved was the fiscal year 2010 budget of $71.4 million.
The expansion project of the football facilities will require 18-24 months to complete and will add approximately 53,000 square feet of new space.
The expansion project includes a new weight training room, athletic training facility, a multi-purpose area, as well as new coaches offices and meeting rooms. The original Butts-Mehre building was dedicated in the spring of 1987.
