Elena Irwin, a faculty member at Ohio State University, will speak at the 27th annual J.W. Fanning Lecture and Luncheon Jan. 20 at 10:30 a.m. in Room R of the Georgia Center for Continuing Education Conference Center and Hotel.
A professor in Ohio State’s department of agricultural, environment and development economics, Irwin will present a lecture entitled “The Implications of the Housing Bust and Other Recent Trends for Urban, Suburban and Exurban Growth.”
The lecture, which is open free to the public, will be followed by a luncheon that includes the presentation of the J.W. Fanning Professional Awards. The cost of the luncheon, which begins at noon, is $30.
Irwin specializes in regional and community economics with a primary focus on the causes and consequences of growth in local and regional areas.
