UPDATE: Because the UGA Athens campus was closed for faculty, staff and students on Feb. 11, the full schedule of meetings for dean candidate Annette Ranft has been canceled. The Provost’s Office will schedule a return visit for Ranft to complete her meetings as soon as possible. Additionally, due to the weather forecast, dean candidate Timothy Smunt’s travel arrangements were postponed. Consequently, Smunt’s campus visit is also canceled. His campus visit will be rescheduled at a later date.
Four finalists for the position of dean of the Terry College of Business will visit campus this month to meet with members of the university community.
A committee chaired by Alan Dorsey, dean of the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences, conducted a national search to identify the finalists and was assisted by the search firm Korn/Ferry International.
Each finalist will make a public presentation from 9:30-10:30 a.m. in Room 271 of the Richard B. Russell Building Special Collection Libraries.
The finalists, dates of their presentation and the dates of their presentation, are:
• Chuck Williams, dean and professor of management at the Butler University College of Business, Feb. 6;
• Annette Ranft, associate dean for academic affairs and Reagan Professor of Business at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville College of Business Administration, Feb. 10;
• Timothy Smunt, Sheldon B. Lubar Dean and professor of supply chain and operations management at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Lubar School of Business, Feb. 12; and
• Robert Hoyt, head of the insurance, legal studies and real estate department and the Dudley L. Moore Jr. Professor of Insurance at the Terry College of Business, Feb. 17.
