The University System of Georgia has announced that Ricardo Azziz, a physician/scientist/executive with more than 20 years of leadership in biomedical research, medical education and healthcare, is the sole finalist for the presidency of the Medical College of Georgia.
Currently, Azziz holds the Helping Hand of Los Angeles Chair in Obstetrics and Gynecology and is director of the Center for Androgen-Related Research and Discovery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He has served as a professor and vice chair of the obstetrics and gynecology department of UCLA.
During his tenure at CSMC and UCLA, Azziz led institution-wide initiatives to measure and improve faculty productivity and satisfaction, new faculty development and retention, and academic excellence.
