Finalists named for two UGA dean’s posts; Campus visits set

Athens, Ga. – Finalists have been chosen for two vacant dean’s positions at the University of Georgia and candidates will be visiting the university over the next several weeks.

National searches have produced three finalists each for dean of the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources and the College and Family and Consumer Sciences. Each unit is now headed by an interim dean. The candidates will make two-day campus visits to meet with faculty, staff and students in the units and to meet with university administration officials.

Finalists for the School of Forestry and Natural Resources, and dates of their campus visits, are:

Paul M. Winistorfer, professor and head of the department of wood science and forest products at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, April 12-13; Robert J. Warren, Meigs Professor and interim dean in the Warnell School, April 16-17; and Reginal M. Harrell, acting associate dean and associate director of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources at the University of Maryland, April 30-May 1.

Finalists for the College of Family and Consumer Sciences, and dates of their campus visits, are:

Laura Dunn Jolly, professor in the department of retail, hospitality and tourism management at the University of Tennessee, April 19-20; Stephen R. Jorgensen, dean and professor of human development and family studies at the University of Missouri at Columbia, May 7-8; and Denis M. Medeiros, professor, department head and graduate studies director in the department of human nutrition, and interim associate dean for scholarship and research, Kansas State University, May 9-10.
