As part of a plan to combat Finland’s recession, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development recommends the country take a new step and begin to charge students tuition to attend colleges and universities, The Chronicle of Higher Education reported.
In addition to breathing new life into the economy, charging tuition also could encourage the students to finish their degrees faster and introduce them to the realities of labor markets, the OECD noted. Finland’s Ministry of Education also made similar recommendations, the Chronicle reported.
