Johann Sebastian Bach is universally revered — a composer who inspires the same overwhelming popularity as Shakespeare and Leonardo da Vinci.
But Bach’s fame was superseded by his son Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach — at least during the latter’s lifetime.
The flute and harpsichord duo of Brandon Patrick George and Kenneth Weiss play both men’s music April 18 at 7:30 p.m. at Ramsey Concert Hall.
George is a leading flute soloist and Grammy-winning chamber musician whose repertoire extends from the Baroque era to today. He is the flutist of Imani Winds and has appeared as a soloist with the Atlanta, Baltimore and Albany symphonies; American Composers Orchestra; and the Orchestra of St. Luke’s, among others.
Weiss focuses on recitals, chamber music, teaching and conducting. He is a regular performer with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. He also performs in the Berkshire Bach Ensemble’s “Bach at New Year’s” concerts with Eugene Drucker and the summer Bridgehampton Chamber Music Festival.
This performance is supported by Herb West and Myrna Adams West.
