George Vellidis, Center for Produce Safety

George Vellidis, a professor of biological and agricultural engineering in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, will receive $254,888 over a two-year period from the Center for Produce Safety at the University of California, Davis, through the U.S. Department of Agriculture, to develop a standard method to collect and test irrigation water samples for Salmonella. Results from the project will be used to minimize the risk of produce contamination.
