An ongoing construction project at the Georgia Center for Continuing Education will cause intermittent closings of the front circle of the facility located off Carlton Street. Until March, the circle will be periodically inaccessible to vehicles between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. On days when the circle is closed, signage will be placed on Carlton Street to inform drivers of the closing in advance of reaching the circle.
The main entrance to the Georgia Center also will be closed at times during the construction. All other exterior doors, including those closest to the banquet areas, will remain open.
As alternatives for both vehicular and pedestrian traffic, the entrance on Green Street, next to the South Campus Parking Deck, is available. Drivers may use the Green Street circle for passenger drop-off and pick-up. Accessible parking is available on the first floor of the South Campus parking deck.
Anyone needing special assistance gaining access to the center during the construction should contact the Georgia Center’s Guest Services at 706-542-1932. Guest Services also can respond daily to specific requests about the status of the circle.
