Athens, Ga. – The University of Georgia College of Pharmacy and the American Pharmacists Association will celebrate American Pharmacists Month with the ninth annual Dawgtoberfest: Rx for Good Health Oct. 19 from noon to 3 p.m. at the Tate Student Center.
The event, sponsored by Walgreens, will include health screenings, free food and samples to all attendees. Flu shots will be available for $20, and cash or credit will be accepted.
Dawgtoberfest will also include free body fat analysis, diabetes assessments and blood pressure checks. Additionally, student health groups across the UGA campus will provide informational booths on hypertension, asthma, breast cancer, diabetes, fad diets, immunizations, sexually transmitted diseases, women’s health topics, pediatric health topics and heartburn.
Dawgtoberfest is open to university students, faculty and staff and families in the Athens community.
