Online search engine giant Google will team with edX, an online educational venture started by Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, as a contributor to open source platform Open edX, which allows teachers to develop education software.
Google also will assist in developing MOOC.org, a website that will enable educators, businesses and institutions to create online courses.
A MOOC refers to massive open online courses-or classes open to large audiences through the Internet.
According to Slate, edX President Anant Agarwal said MOOC.org could become “the YouTube of MOOCs.”
