A senior in the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication received the WSB Radio Award earlier this month at the annual DiGamma Kappa banquet on the UGA campus.
Ashley Caudill, a senior broadcast news major from Woodstock, received the award for her commitment to community service through radio broadcasting.
“Selecting Ashley to receive the WSB Award was an easy choice because of her excellent work and service in radio,” says Alison Alexander, head of UGA’s telecommunications department.
Caudill began her career in radio as a freshman at UGA. Currently she delivers the morning on-air news for WGAU 1340 in Athens and serves as color commentator for the gymnastics team’s meets.
The WSB Radio Award was created by Atlanta radio station 750 WSB. Awarded annually, it recognizes a telecommunications student who shows an outstanding commitment to community service who plans to embark on a career in radio.
