As part of the National Digital Newspaper Project, the University of California at Riverside, the University of Florida Libraries in Gainesville, the University of Kentucky Research Foundation, the University of Utah, University of Virginia Library and the New York Public Library will share $1.9 million in grants to digitize 100,000 or more pages from the most historically significant newspapers published in those states between 1900 and 1910. The digital copies will then be available free on the Library of Congress’s Web site.
