A groundbreaking ceremony will be held Oct. 17 at 3 p.m. on the Griffin campus for the UGA Griffin Food Technology Center.
The new state-of-the-art facility will house pilot plants and laboratory spaces for cold temperature work, wet and dry processing and quality-control laboratories.
Researchers from UGA’s College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences and industry experts will guide business owners in product development, packaging, safe processing and consumer acceptance.
