One professor has resigned and four others filed complaints at the University of Toledo following a report claiming the history department is hostile to women, according to The Independent Collegian, the university’s student newspaper.
The report alleges that women in the department were addressed condescendingly and are not respected as scholars, among other things. The professor who resigned was one of three tenure-track women in the 12-member department. Some male professors are filing complaints against the report, which they said includes “unsubstantiated charges.”
