Citing a greater vulnerability among college students, the U.S. Department of Education has launched a new Web site designed to educate students about the dangers of identity theft. The site offers a lengthy description of the dangers of identity theft aimed explicitly at students and an explanation of how it happens. Credit card solicitations and accounts are specifically mentioned. The site also includes information about the federal government’s fraud hotline.
