Jenny Penney Oliver, chair of the dean’s council for diversity in the College of Education, has been elected secretary of the Georgia chapter of the National Association for Multicultural Education. Oliver has served as member-at-large of the Georgia chapter’s board of directors since 2003. She co-chaired the 2005 NAME international conference.
NAME was founded in 1990 as an organization bringing together individuals and groups with an interest in multicultural education from all levels of education, and representatives from businesses and communities. Members in 22 states have formed NAME chapters.
