John C. Inscoe won Georgia Historical Society’s award for best book on Georgia history

John C. Inscoe, a history professor in the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences, won the Georgia Historical Society’s annual award for best book on Georgia history for his book Writing The South Through The Self, a collection of essays that use elements of autobiography and memoir to tell individual stories of Southern life.

Inscoe is the editor of the New Georgia Encyclopedia and a former editor of the Georgia Historical Quarterly.
