Kalamazoo College in Kalamazoo, Mich., received a $23 million grant, the largest in the college’s 179-year history, to endow the work of its Arcus Center for Social Justice Leadership, The Chronicle of Higher Education reported.
The grant, made by the Arcus Foundation, will support a broad array of activities including student scholarships, two endowed professorships, internships, leadership development public lectures and residencies for social justice scholars and practitioners. The foundation describes itself as “advancing pressing social-justice and conservation issues.”
