Karen Shetterley, a senior public service associate with the Georgia Center for Continuing Education, has been named to the Professional Education Review Panel. Members of this panel are appointed by the National Association for the Educational of Young Children, the largest early childhood care and education professional association in the U.S.
The panel advises the NAEYC professional development staff and evaluates materials prepared by four-year and graduate-degree higher education institutions submitting their Early Childhood Program Reports for accreditation review.
Panel members are responsible for the following: 1) development and periodic revision of various standards and procedures for review of early childhood professional preparation and development programs; 2) design of products and services related to early childhood professional preparation and development at all levels from recruitment into the field to leadership development; and 3) development of innovative solutions to the problems confronting the early childhood profession.
