Athens, Ga. – The University of Georgia Lamar Dodd School of Art will recognize its 2011 Bachelor of Fine Arts graduates in professional group exhibitions and celebrations beginning with a opening reception on April 22 at 7 p.m. in gallery 101 of the school of art. The exhibitions, sequentially titled BFA I, II and III, celebrate the work of students grouped by media. The opening receptions are free, and the public is invited to attend.
BFA I, with work on exhibition from April 22 – 29, features students in photography, printmaking and jewelry/metals.
BFA II, which runs from May 2 – 6, features students in painting and drawing, art education, ceramics and Art X. The opening reception is May 6 at 7 p.m.
BFA III, which runs from May 9 – 13, features students in fabrics, graphic design and interior design. The opening reception is May 12 at 7 p.m.
All exhibitions will be in gallery 101 of the art school.
“Our BFA shows are always exciting events that bring many people to campus,” said Georgia Strange, director of the school of art. “The creative energy and technical skill of our students are testaments to their accomplishment and hard work, and I congratulate them and the faculty members who have guided them.”
