Alexa Lamm, associate professor in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences’ Department of Agricultural Leadership, Education and Communication, presented the keynote speech at the Council for Agricultural Science and Technology announcement of the 2021 Borlaug CAST Communication Award.
Lamm, the winner of the 2020 Borlaug CAST Communication Award, spoke on “Bouncing Forward: Capitalizing on the Current Societal Evolution to Strategically Communicate about Science.” Lamm is a leader in the field of social science research, examining the impacts of communication and educational practices, especially as they relate to technology that advances agricultural production while maintaining a sustainable environment. Much of her work explores how people make decisions about water conservation, water protection and water policy.
